Ugh!

Why does buying a new car have to be such a headache?

  1. ...because you won't appreciate the final product if there's no hard work and frustration involved. That's a load of hooey, but it made me feel better when I was in the process of buying mine!

  2. so it looks like i'm not going to buy one after all... i admit... i'm disappointed. i was "ready" for a new car. they're asking a reasonable price, but i just can't afford it right now. way too much money for way too long a time.

  3. The trick is being their headache, and they back down. I just bought a set of wheels and had fun with it....but I got my way, my price & my payment.

  4. Do it the Dave Ramsey way! Pay yourself a car payment (you can afford) 'till you have enough cash to buy a better car than you have now, then repeat and move up every few years 'till you have what you really want! I will definitely do it that way with my next car - I am about to pay mine off and I am SOOOOO looking forward to not having a payment!

  5. Kudos Carissa for being a Dave Ramsey listener. I love Dave and can't wait for him to come to Houston :-)

  6. Dave came to Houston a few years ago, and I went to the conference. It was a great experience! I don't know that I want to continue getting new cars all the time...so I probably won't do it exactly like that. Right now, it looks like I'm going to save up and buy one at "end of year closing" time in 2008.
