Pulp or No Pulp?

I know everyone has a different preference for orange juice. I can drink whatever. I like pulp, but I don't have to have it. I don't like Sunny D...that's just not orange juice! But I'm good with pretty much anything else.

For almost a week now, I've been fighting the runny nose, scratchy throat and cough that has plagued everyone else in Houston lately. I have been self-medicating with Robitussin (mmm!) and orange juice. I bought two quarts (?) of Minute Maid OJ, but went with two different types. One was Low Pulp and one was a higher concentrate of pulp. There were other differences too, but they're not relevant to this post (and I don't remember them anyway!) I drank the Low Pulp one first, for no other reason than it was at the front of the refrigerator. I'm now drinking the one with more pulp. Except the bottle wasn't explicit enough.

I didn't realize I would be practically chewing my orange juice.

  2. pulp is awesome! I just a made an orange sauce tonight to go over some pork- and used the same high pulp minute maid oj you mentioned... it did make an interesting texture for the sauce but still delicious!

  3. Orange juice is not meant to be chewed. It defeats the purpose of JUICE. If I want the taste of orange in a chewable form, I'll either take a chewable, orange-flavored vitamin, or eat an orange (which I don't particularly care for unless they are of the blood orange variety).
